AIRPORT TRANSFERS
Santa Maria is around 15–20 minutes from the airport. Budget approximately
€15–€20 per taxi.
We recommend staying in or around Santa Maria, close to the beach, restaurants and events. DSG is working with Hotel Da Luz and selected private apartments/villas.
WHERE TO STAY
GETTING AROUND
Most of central Santa Maria is walkable. If you're staying outside town, taxis are readily available and relatively inexpensive.
The official currency is Cape Verdean Escudo (CVE). Euros are also commonly accepted in tourist areas. Bring some cash as well as your bank card.

TRAVEL INSAURANCE
Travel insurance is strongly recommended and should cover medical treatment, cancellations, luggage and any excursions/adventure activities.
ENTRY
British visitors can currently visit for up to 30 days without a visa, but pre-registration and the airport security fee apply. Check the latest requirements before travelling.

SAFETY &
COMMUNITY
CONTROLLED CAPACITY
We deliberately limit numbers so events don’t feel overcrowded and our team can properly manage the guest experience.
PROFESSIONAL SECURITY
Experienced security will be present at our main events, working alongside the DSG team and venue security.
WRISTBANDS & ACCREDITATION
Guests receive official DSG wristbands/accreditation. This helps us identify guests and control access to general, VIP and restricted areas.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Respect is non-negotiable. Harassment, intimidation, unwanted touching, violence or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated. Anyone seriously breaching our rules may be removed from the event.
WOMEN-FOCUSED SAFETY
Our planning has been shaped by conversations with women about what helps them feel safer when travelling and attending events. This includes controlled numbers, visible support, organised transport and clear ways to ask for help.
REPORT SOMETHING
If something doesn’t feel right, tell us. Guests can approach DSG staff, security or their designated host. We’ll also provide guests with a dedicated contact method before the trip.
ON-SITE SUPPORT
Our team will be visible throughout the weekend. Whether you’ve lost your group, feel uncomfortable, need transport help or simply need assistance, find a DSG team member.
SAFER TRANSPORT
Official DSG excursions and VIP transfers will use organised transport and approved providers. We’ll clearly communicate meeting points and return arrangements.
EMERGENCY PROCEDURE
In an emergency, contact local emergency services first, then alert DSG security/staff. Emergency contacts, venue meeting points and key information will be provided to guests before arrival.
