THE EVENT
What is Don’t Scare The Girls?
Don’t Scare The Girls is a 3-day music, wellness, culture and travel experience created for women and our wider community.
It combines live music, DJs, parties, wellness, excursions, beach experiences, food, culture and networking in Santa Maria, Sal, Cape Verde.
When is DSG?
7th–9th May 2027.
Where is the event?
Santa Maria, Sal, Cape Verde.
The weekend takes place across carefully selected venues and locations around Santa Maria.
Is this a normal festival?
No. DSG is designed as a private, curated experience, rather than an overcrowded festival.
The aim is to create a weekend where people can actually meet, relax, enjoy themselves and feel comfortable.
Who is DSG for?
Everyone is welcome, but the event has been created with women at the centre, particularly women who want to travel, experience something different and meet like-minded people in a positive environment.
We expect women travelling solo, with friends, couples, professionals, creatives, entrepreneurs and groups.

SAFETY & SECURITY
Is DSG safe for women travelling alone?
Safety is one of the biggest priorities behind DSG.
We are creating a controlled event environment with professional security, organised transport, staff and clear procedures for dealing with incidents.
However, no destination or event can guarantee complete safety, so guests should still take normal precautions and follow local advice. UK travel advice recommends keeping valuables secure, avoiding isolated/unlit areas after dark and using authorised taxis.
Will there be security?
Yes.
Professional/private security will be present throughout the main event activities.
What happens if someone makes me uncomfortable?
Tell a member of the DSG team or security immediately.
We want guests to feel comfortable reporting inappropriate behaviour rather than feeling that they have to deal with it themselves.
What happens if somebody harasses me?
Harassment, intimidation, unwanted touching, threatening behaviour or discriminatory behaviour will not be tolerated.
Our team can intervene, remove individuals from the event and escalate matters to local authorities where necessary.
Can I report something privately?
Yes.
We will have a clear way for guests to speak privately to a member of the DSG team.
What if I don’t know anyone?
That’s completely fine.
DSG is specifically designed to make it easy for people to come alone, meet people and enjoy the weekend without feeling isolated.
Can I leave an event and come back?
Your wristband provides your event access, but individual venue entry/re-entry arrangements may vary. Follow the instructions from the DSG team on the night.
WOMEN’S COMFORT
Is DSG only for women?
The event is women-focused, but the exact guest policy can vary by event/activity. Our priority is creating an environment where women feel comfortable, respected and safe.

Security and staff will be present, and inappropriate behaviour will be dealt with.
Can I attend alone?
Yes.
You don’t need to know anyone before coming.
Is DSG a networking event?

ONE VERY IMPORTANT FAQ
Why is it called Don’t Scare The Girls?
Because the whole idea started with a simple question:
What would it look like if women could travel, party, explore and experience Cape Verde together while feeling comfortable, respected and looked after?
DSG is about creating that environment.
It’s music.
It’s travel.
It’s wellness.
It’s culture.
It’s friendship.
It’s meeting new people.
It’s dressing up.
It’s getting on a private bus with 14 other women and going on an adventure.
It’s sitting by the pool.
It’s dancing until late.
It’s having breakfast the next morning and doing it all again.
It’s a whole experience—not just a ticket to a party.
